What general podiatry covers

General podiatry deals with the routine foot problems that can make walking, standing, and even getting through the day a real nuisance. We treat concerns such as corns, calluses, thickened nails, fungal nails, and foot pain with care that focuses on your comfort as well as practical relief. If your foot pain is linked to the way you walk, biomechanics and gait analysis can help identify the underlying cause.

The Footcare Clinic in Macclesfield uses these appointments as the place to sort out small issues before they become stubborn ones. A painful corn can change the way you walk. Thickened nails can make shoes feel miserable. General podiatry helps keep your feet manageable, comfortable, and ready for everyday life.

The Foot Clinic is an Excellent, well run business. All staff are very friendly and put all customers at ease. They invest in the latest technology and go out of their way to solve any issues you may have. I spent lots of time and money on different treatments, and then discovered the latest microwave verruca technology at the foot clinic. I have tried this treatment and have now got no issues after several years of other treatments. Thankyou again to Debra and the team. 😀

How treatment usually works

Your appointment starts with a close look at the problem and a straightforward explanation of what we find. We then carry out the treatment needed for that visit, which may involve reducing hard skin, easing pressure points, or caring for damaged nails. Persistent nail problems may require nail surgery, and we'll explain when that's the most appropriate option.

Our podiatrists are all members of The Royal College of Podiatry, so you can expect informed care rather than guesswork. If your symptoms point to a wider issue, we can also advise on the next sensible step. The Footcare Clinic has been helping people in Macclesfield since 1988, and that experience matters when a foot problem has been bothering you for weeks.

LCN Wilde-Pedique - Toenail Reconstruction

LCN Wilde-Pedique, is a specialist toenail reconstruction system. It’s cosmetic, so it therefore
doesn’t cure disease. But it uses a flexible UV-cured resin designed to move with the natural nail. It
contains antimicrobial ingredients. It won’t treat any underlying disease by itself. However, It can
be used for nails that are damaged by trauma, thickened nails, partially missing nails post-surgery,
or fungal nails where appearance is a big concern. The nail’s reduced and prepped, then the gel is
layered and cured, then shaped and finished so it looks natural.
